In this month of September, the Canadian province of Saskatchewan invited 621 applicants under its Provincial Nominee Program to apply for a Canadian Permanent Residence. The program is known as Saskatchewan Provincial Nominee Program (SINP) and the applicants were invited from the Skilled Worker category. The international skilled workers were invited both under the Express Entry as well as Occupation In Demand category. The pre-requisite of the program demanded the applicants to have already submitted an Expression of Interest (EOI) with their profiles to the SINP portal. Most of the applications were invited under the Tech occupation categories.
The Occupation In Demand category was open mostly to the Tech field and applicants with relevant experience in the categories of Software Engineers and Designers, Computer Programming and Interactive Media developers as well as Web Designers and Developers. The codes for these jobs can be searched on the database of the province portal website. The invited candidates will also have their educational credential assessment, comparing their foreign degrees and diplomas to the Canadian study system and deem how they fit.
The score system of Saskatchewan requires the candidates to be assessed on the basis of age, language abilities, education and experience as well as how they can add to the benefit go life in Canada with their abilities and occupation. The minimum scoring to qualify in this draw was 68 for the given categories. The score was rated out of 100 points. The candidates were required to have at least 10 years of work experience or have work connections in the province.
Last month the province of Saskatchewan also released its draw on 26th Aug 2020. It invited 570 candidates under its PNP draw. The Provincial Nominee Program however was aimed at occupations that were in -demand and invitations have sent only to applicants who fit in the requirement. The intakes were sought through the Saskatchewan occupation list or else the Express Entry Stream. The criterion for selection comes through the minimum point requirements. The province rolled out as many as 19 draws inviting quite a number of applicants last year and is further prepared to invite more based on their goal.
